On May 13th local time, Peruvian Prime Minister Gustavo Adrianson announced his resignation.

Peruvian President Boruarte appointed three new ministers at the presidential palace that day. After attending the inauguration ceremony of the new ministers, Adrianson said that considering the highest interests of the country, he decided to resign as chairman of the Council of Ministers.

Adrianson was appointed as the President of the Council of Ministers of Peru on March 6, 2024. The Peruvian Congress will debate and vote on a motion of no confidence against him on the 14th. The MPs who proposed the motion of no confidence believe that Adrianson has handled emergencies such as the national security crisis and the fight against violence caused by illegal mining improperly. According to local media reports, once the above-mentioned motion of no confidence is passed, the Peruvian government cabinet will be forced to resign collectively.
